June 25-26 Three ELCA pastors from the West Virginia-Western Maryland Synod will be riding a custom made triplet bicycle constructed from bamboo as they cross the country on a mission to promote wellness and to do their part to alleviate world hunger. They leave Chicago in May 13 and arrive at the Churchwide Assembly in Minneapolis August 20. check out their new Web site and learn of their mission to fight hunger. Our synod is looking for bikers interested in forming a synod team to ride into Duluth with them upon arrival the afternoon of June 25 from Marquette, MI. That evening they will give a presentation at a Duluth area congregation. (and possibly again the morning of June 26). A group of riders will then ride a ways with them as they depart for Rice Lake, WI. If interested in helping out with synod arrangements for this event, contact marilyn.hull@ecunet.org

Where's the sunday ride heading to?
ReplyDeleteThe Sunday Ride from Starvin Marvin's does not have a definet heading as of yet. The direction we will go will depend on the interest of the riders in the group and the wind direction.
ReplyDeleteI hope some people will join me on the Sunday ride from Starvin Marvin's tomarrow. It looks like a beautiful day. I think we will start traveling west along Hwy 2 toward Saginaw, then head north to Twig and loop back to Pike Lake and then then south returning to Starvin Marvin's.
ReplyDeleteI plan on being there, the weather is supposed to cooperate.
ReplyDeleteI might be there. No promises. I haven't ridden more than 20 miles at a time since coming back from my broken arm, but I need to increase my mileage to test my shoulder. If the legs feel good in the morning I'll be there.
ReplyDeleteI'll be there, ready to go. Like I said Bob, don't stand me up! Hope to see you there Doug!!!
